Hello St. Luke Families,
It has been such a vibrant and meaningful week here at the school! There is something truly special about the energy in our hallways when we balance our spiritual traditions with the excitement of our national pride.
We kicked things off with Shrove Tuesday. There’s nothing quite like the smell of pancakes in the morning to bring a smile to everyone's face! A huge thank you to our parent volunteers who helped flip, serve, and clear away the syrup—your hard work made it a wonderful community event.
On Ash Wednesday, we transitioned into a more reflective space. I want to share a special "bravo" to our Grade 2 students, who led us through a truly beautiful liturgy. Watching our younger learners take on leadership roles with such reverence was a powerful reminder of the spirit of Lent. They helped us all start this season of prayer and fasting with open hearts.
To wrap up the week, we traded our reflection for some "Red and White" spirit! We’ve been keeping a close eye on the Olympics, cheering on our Canadian athletes as they compete on the world stage. It’s been a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn about perseverance, sportsmanship, and the pride that comes from representing our home.
I hope you all have a restful weekend ahead. Whether you are beginning your Lenten journey or just catching up on Olympic highlights, know that we are grateful for your continued support of our school community.
God bless,
Ms. Myers & Ms Wallace
Pink Shirt Day - Wednesday February 25th
This Pink Shirt Day, let's unite against bullying and empower everyone, regardless of age, to create positive change. By wearing pink and promoting kindness and inclusivity, we can amplify voices and show our commitment to a better world. Let's extend this awareness and action beyond February, making a difference throughout the year.
Pink Shirt Day is an annual event against bullying held in Canada and New Zealand. Participants wear pink shirts and attend or host informative events to raise awareness about bullying, particularly in schools. Pink Shirt Day was started in 2007 in Canada, where it is held on the last Wednesday of February each year.
Drop off - School Supervision
Just a quick reminder that school yard supervision begins at 8:55 am. For their safety, please ensure students do not arrive before this time. If your child is using the Ottawa City play structure, we kindly ask that they move to the school yard pavement once they arrive, as the play structure area is not supervised by staff.
