A Heartwarming Welcome Back to St. Luke!
Dear St. Luke Families,
Welcome back and Happy New Year! It has been such a joy to see our hallways filled once again with the bright smiles, laughter, and energy of our students. There is a special kind of warmth that returns to our school building the moment our learners walk through the doors, and we have truly missed them over the Christmas break.
I am thrilled to share that we’ve had a wonderful and successful first week back. The students have settled into their routines with ease, reconnecting with friends and diving back into their learning with curiosity and spirit. It is always a testament to our incredible community—staff, students, and parents alike—how smoothly we can transition back into the rhythm of school life.
As we look ahead to the remainder of the 2026 school year, I am filled with optimism. We have so many "good things" in store:
Deep Learning projects that challenge our students to think critically and creatively.
Faith-filled celebrations that strengthen our bond as a Catholic community.
Collaborative milestones where we continue to grow together in kindness and respect.
At the OCSB, we believe in the potential of every child, and my door is always open as we work together to support your child’s journey. Thank you for your continued partnership and for entrusting us with your children every day.
Wishing you all a blessed, healthy, and exciting winter term!
Warmly,
Ms. Myers
Principal

Working Together for Student Safety: Arrival and Departure Reminders
Parking Lot Access
Please remember that the school parking lot is off-limits to parent parking at all times. Access to the lot is strictly reserved for:
Special transportation vehicles
Mount Shannon Childcare vehicles
St. Luke staff members
Restricted Entry Times
To protect our students during the busiest parts of the day, there is NO ENTRY to the parking lot or the bus lanes in front of the school during the following windows:
Morning: 8:45 am – 9:15 am
Afternoon: 3:15 pm – 3:45 pm
Pedestrian Safety & Modeling Best Practices
We are very fortunate to have a dedicated team of educators on duty to help our walkers. When arriving at or leaving the school, children must cross at either end of the bus lane, where a staff member is stationed to guide them.
We kindly ask for your support in modeling these safety protocols for our students. Please:
Use the designated sidewalks at all times.
Refrain from crossing through the bus lane, even if it appears clear.
With a variety of buses and special transportation vehicles moving through these areas, following these paths ensures everyone remains visible and safe.
Safety is truly a collective responsibility. By working together and following these guidelines, we ensure that our school remains a safe environment for every child. Thank you for your continued cooperation and for helping us keep our community safe!

It is that important time of year again, when we welcome our newest students to our system! Please note that Kindergarten Registration has started.
