Overview
The RST for this course will be to create a product/service/business idea to pitch to “investors”. The format will be similar to what is presented on Dragons Den. Your RST is worth 30% of your final mark and will consists of two parts:
• PART A - a typed report (25 marks)
• PART B - a slide presentation (5 marks)
Your report and slide show must be done in Google Docs and Google Slides. Any other format will not be accepted. Share both of these documents with me and allow editing privileges. This will let me see the revision history. If you are working in a group then share the document with the group so each person can edit the document. This will show what each person worked on.
Getting Started
Think about a product, service, or small business that interests you. It is important to choose something you like or are passionate about. It will make the process more enjoyable and more likely to be a successful presentation.
The product can be for any age group. However, if your product/service is for students, you can do some market research here at school.
Before you begin, refer to the Dragons Den Wise Notes on our class website for some helpful advice on good and bad pitches.
If you choose grade 7 and 8 students as your target market, some product/service ideas are locker decorating service, school supplies bundle, tutoring, bracelets, duct tape wallets.
Before you begin, design a survey to be given to a couple classes or to the teachers. (Send me the link and I will email it to the teachers.) This will tell you if there is a need or want for your idea.
If applicable make a website; make a floor plan (free floor plans online).
