Upon completion of this chapter each student will be able to:
- understand the stages in the life cycle of a business
- describe the research required to develop a venture plan
- outline the key steps in preparing a venture plan
- describe the elements of a mission statement (eg. business philosophy, vision, goals, objectives)
- analyze the components of the business venture plan (eg. executive summary, market analysis, resource analysis, operating strategy, and financial strategy)
- explain how mentors can contribute to the evaluation and revision of a business plan
**Start to think of a venture you would like to start some day. You will use this venture as the basis for your CPT. Let me know by the end of the first week.
