Chapter Seven

Section 7.1: In this section, you will use your understanding of the trigonometric ratios in right triangles to build an understanding of three new functions. You will recognize and create multiple representations of the functions y = sin and y = cos . You will discover relationships between a unit circle and a graph of a trigonometric function. You will also learn to use a new unit, radians, to measure arcs and angles.

Section 7.2: In this section, you will apply your expertise with transforming parent graphs to graph functions of the family whose parents are y = sin x and y = cos x. You will develop general equations for periodic or trigonometric functions. You will also learn about a property particular to these functions called a period.
