Chapter Two

Section 2.1: In this section you will learn how to shift, stretch compress and flip the graph of f(x) = x². You will write a general equation for the family of quadratic functions. Then you will learn how to graph a quadratic function quickly when it is written in graphing form. You will model physical situations with quadratic functions.

Section 2.2: You will apply the concepts of transformation to other parent functions, and you will learn that transforming each parent function creates a whole family of functions. You will write a general equation for a family of functions. You will learn how the equation predicts the geometric transformations made to the graph of a function.
