I grew up as a military kid, because my dad is in the Navy. It required a lot of moving around as a kid, but provided me numerous opportunities to grow and develop a deep appreciation for new experiences and not taking life for granted. I grew up in Guam, a U.S. territory, and moved back stateside where I started middle school in my hometown of Kingsland, GA. I attended high school there as well graduating from Camden County High with honors in May of 2013. I was heavily involved with both the FFA and marching band, which later led to my reason for pursuing a degree in agricultural education. Thanks to my amazing ag teacher, I was able to participate in some incredible opportunities such as the Georgia Governor's Honors Program, serving as a National Delegate for the state of Georgia at the National FFA Convention, and running as a State FFA officer.
I began my freshman year of college at the University of Georgia beginning in Fall of 2013. I joined Sigma Alpha, a professional agricultural sorority, and got involved with collegiate FFA. While in college, I worked at both a florist, and a trampoline park, both of which I highly enjoyed.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Kyle, who I'm sure you will meet one of these days. Kyle is a firefighter with the Athens-Clarke County Fire Department. We reside in Winterville where we share our home with our two dogs, Fronz & Piper, and two cats, Ava & Luna. We have one baby girl, Annabeth Grace, who was born in July 2019. She is our pride and joy and one of the few things I love more than being a teacher.
I completed my semester of student teaching in Spring of 2016 at Eastside High School in Covington, GA under the direction of Mrs. Catrina Pollard. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my Bachelor's Degree in Fall of 2016, a semester ahead of schedule. I started teaching at Jasper County High School in January 2017. I taught Basic Agricultural Science, Ag Mech I, Ag Mech II, and Ag Mech III. I now teach at Oconee County High School as one of two agriculture education teachers. I teach Basic Ag, Ag Mechanics, Animal Science, & Agricultural Leadership. I am also in graduate school to get my Master's degree in Agricultural & Environmental Education. I love what I do and wouldn't change it for the world.
