Welcome to the Math and Computer Science Department at Brookfield High School! We're thrilled to have you join our vibrant community of learners and educators. Our community is dedicated to fostering a love for discovery and critical thinking and helping students unlock their potential in the fascinating worlds of mathematics and computer science.
In grade 9 the majority of students take MTH1W and in grade 10 the majority of students take MPM2D. The first option students have to select a different math course is in grade 11. Descriptions of each course can be found here.
This is a question that can't be answered in a few lines. Choosing which grade 11 math course is best for you depends on many factors. Consider looking at the page "Choosing a Grade 11 Math Course" for some helpful advice. Also, your guidance counselor and grade 10 math teacher can help you choose the most appropriate course for you.
No! Even if you've never coded before but are interested in learning, consider taking a grade 11 computer science course!

The Assessment of Mathematics (EQAO) is a standardized, online multiple choice test of the mathematics knowledge and skills students are expected to have learned by the end of their Grade 9 mathematics course. Every student writes EQAO towards the end of their Grade 9 math class and this accounts for 10% of their final mark.
EQAO-aligned tools and content are integrated directly into daily lessons. Rather than treating this assessment as a separate event, we view it as a natural extension of our curriculum. We ensure that our students are not only prepared for the assessments but also have a deeper, more lasting understanding of the skills they are learning.
If you're looking for resources, check out the BHNmath website.
