Cooperative Education provides secondary school students the ability to earn credits while working in a community workplace outside of their school. Students will have the opportunity to develop personal and workplace skills important to their career and life planning.
Student attends place of business or organization
Co-op Teacher and business Supervisor ensure that health and safety training standards and appropriate PPE are met prior to the start of placement
Co-op teacher supports student learning with regular placement visits and meetings
Students can work for mornings or afternoons each school day for the semester and can earn 2 credits
Full-day Co-op option is available for an entire semester as well and students can earn 4 credits
Students can select half or full day co-op options during Course Selection for the following year and can also speak to their Guidance Counsellor to register for these courses.
