Attendance will be taken and recorded at the beginning of each period in Powerschool. To ensure a uniform attendance policy, we will use the following breakdown for every 40 minutes of class time:
40-35 min Present and on time
34-20 min Present but Tardy
> 20 min Absent
There will be unforeseen issues with technology that we will take into account. If a student is tardy or unable to attend class due to technical difficulties, that student (or student’s parent) should follow up with an email explanation to the classroom teacher(s) and student attendance in PowerSchool will be amended as deemed appropriate.
If a student is absent or tardy for other reasons, a parent or guardian should call Ms. Gregory (440-776-4652) as soon as possible and follow up with an email notification (tgregory@oberlinschools.net) for our records.
Minutes absent and unexcused will be accumulated through Powerschool, and all district attendance policies will be followed and enforced per House Bill 410.
Students will use their full first and/or last name to identify themselves through their devices for the purpose of taking accurate attendance.
Students are expected to have their cameras and microphone on when requested by the classroom teacher. Failure to do so may jeopardize attendance for the period.
Backgrounds must be school appropriate, and may not cause a distraction or disruption of the learning environment. Oberlin Phoenix backgrounds have been provided to all students and placed in their Google Drives.
Dress for Zoom will remain consistent with the LMS Handbook Policy on dress code.
LMS teachers and students will follow the traditional grading scale as outlined in the Student Handbook.
Students will be expected to engage in school appropriate behavior. Failure to do so may lead to the following consequences:
1. A student being muted for a portion or the remainder of a class.
2. A student being logged off for the remainder of a class, with the possibility that credit may not be issued for the daily assignment.
3. A student being logged off for the remainder of the day, with the possibility that credit not be issued for the entire day.
In the event that a teacher or administrator must take any of the above steps, parent contact will be made.
