My name is Tiffany Georgiadis and I have been teaching at LMS since 1999! I earned both my Master of Art Education and my Bachelor of Art Education from the Ohio State University. I live here in Wonderful Oberlin and I am so happy to have raised my children here. I collect coffee mugs from the 27 National Parks that I have visited. I never ever cook from a recipe. :) My family and I are avidly into Taekwondo. My favorite food is pancakes!!. 🥞

I took the risk and never looked back.

It was soooo hard. It was soooo fun! It was complicated and frustrating and humiliating all at the same time, but I kept coming back for more.

Then one day, my mind clicked. Martial Arts? Visual Arts? Both artforms require a giant amount of grit and growth mindset! They both require you to take basic knowledge of skill and to learn to use them in a spontaneous way.

I donned the persona of “Master G.” (How many of YOU get to make up a secret identity?) I set up all of my units into Colored Belt Units. The students proceeded through the units one by one at their own pace. They started at White, went to Red, then went to Orange Belt, and so on.

🌈The Rising Phoenix Arts Dojo has been in place since 2017, and we have “graduated” 7 Black Belts through the entire program. It is tough. It shows an incredible amount of determination and investment to get this far. I can’t say how proud I am of these Student Apprentices.

We can’t use the Belt Unit levels this year and we will not be able to be in my beautiful Art Room. But- we can be flexible and inventive.

Every student will be working at home with their own set of materials. Some kids will even be able to get creative and get some unusual materials to use with their projects. Every one of you will get your own REALLY FANCY pad of All-Media paper. This paper is for all of your actual projects.

I have found some really fun projects for you to explore. I think that there is something for everyone. My daughter and I tested them out this summer and we had a blast. I know that you will too!
