Designing and Developing Digital Outcomes
Tē tōia, tē haumatia
Nothing can be achieved without a plan, workforce and way of doing things - Without a plan you are aiming to fail
Here you will understand that digital applications and systems are created for humans by humans. You will develop your understanding and skills for designing and producing quality, fit-for-purpose, digital outcomes. This is done by understanding the technologies people need in order to locate, analyse, evaluate and present digital information efficiently, effectively and ethically.
You will build on manipulating and combining data, using information management tools to create an outcome. You will become aware if the unique intellectual property issues that arise in digital systems, particularly with approaches to copyright and patents. You will also develop understandings of how to build, install, and maintain computers, networks and systems so that they are secure and efficient.
Developing knowledge and skills be will done by using different technologies to create digital content for the web, interactive digital platforms and print. You will construct digital media outcomes that integrate media types and incorporate original content. You will also learn how electronic components and techniques are used to design digital devices and integrated to assemble and test an electronic environment.
YOUR PROJECT
It's always nice to see where you started and where you end up. Below is the template to document your journey. You can write, take photos, videos etc to show your ideas, how they develop, decisions you made, testing you completed, the end outcomes and your thoughts along the way.
You also need to create a folder in your H drive or on your own device called Character Project.
You should save all your different files here.

Digital Technologies | Progress Outcomes
Designing and developing Digital Outcomes FOR DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES
At the end of this topic students will have had the opportunity to cover;
make decisions about creating, manipulating, storing, retrieving, sharing, and testing digital content for a specific purpose, given particular parameters, tools, and techniques PO2
understand that digital devices impact on humans and society and that both the devices and their impact change over time PO2
identify the specific role of components in a simple input-process-output system and how they work together, and they recognise the "control role” that humans have in the system PO2
select from an increasing range of applications and file types to develop outcomes for particular purposes PO2
follow a defined process to design, develop, store, test, and evaluate digital content to address given contexts or issues, taking into account immediate social, ethical, and end-user considerations PO3
identify the key features of selected software and choose the most appropriate software and file types to develop and combine digital content PO3
understand the role of operating systems in managing digital devices, security, and application software and are able to apply file management conventions using a range of storage devices PO3
understand that with storing data comes responsibility for ensuring security and privacy PO3
