6th Floor Student Housing
New York, NY 10012
Example:
Bob Cat
181 Mercer Street, Apt. 1310D
6th Floor Student Housing
New York, NY 10012
The mailboxes are located on the sixth floor, directly across from the Resource Center. Each suite shares a mailbox, accessible by a key given to each suite member at the time of move-in.
Packages can be picked up in the Resource Center only during operating hours (see Resource Center (RC) page).
Important note on packages: Residents will receive an email from the Resource Center once their package has been logged. Often residents may come down for a package because they received an email from the courier that their package has arrived. This is usually in error of the postal service (USPS). Nationally, USPS trucks often mark packages as delivered once they have been loaded onto the USPS delivery truck before even leaving the distribution center. The packages are of course delivered some hours (and sometimes days) later. Additionally, packages are often delivered to NYU Central Mail Services, before being re-delivered to the specific residence halls. At times, this means that you may receive notification from a delivery courier, such as Amazon, that your package was delivered, but it may take a few extra business days to arrive at the actual residence hall. You will know for sure that your package is ready for pickup at the Resource Center when you receive an email from the Resource Center.*
*Please trust that once mail and packages have arrived in the Paulson mailroom, they will be promptly processed. Notifii email notifications will be sent expediently from the Paulson Resource Center.
Paulson does not accept nor log packages that contain perishable items. Examples include meal-in-a-box service (ie: Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, Amazon Fresh, etc.). If a delivery comes with these items, residents are responsible for connecting directly with the delivery person. Usually, the carrier calls the resident. If the carrier leaves the parcel at the Resource Center, the team will leave the package until closing time, and promptly dispose of the parcel.
This also applies to flower deliveries and Edible Arrangements.
The reason for this policy stems from residents often ordering items that can deteriorate and attract undesirable pests if not promptly picked up.
Each resident is provided with a university-standard bed, desk, chair, and dresser.
Residents are prohibited from bringing into the residence halls any items that measure more than 80 inches when adding together the length, width, and depth dimensions. Upholstered furniture is prohibited in order to deter from bringing bed bugs into the hall. Air mattresses are prohibited.
Most mini-refrigerators meet the outside furniture requirements.
Residents may read more on furniture and other university policies.
The most common prohibited items we see are:
Upholstered headboards
Upholstered butterfly chairs
Futons
These items will be Returned to Sender (RTS) if we receive them at our Resource Center. Please note that we perform Fire Safety Inspections throughout the year and these items will also be confiscated if brought in via other means.
