Lynn Lin, Friends Seminary

Lynn Lin teaches 4-12th grade at Friends Seminary. Her students are non-heritage learners. Students from grades K-8th have one to one ipad system and grades 9-12 students purchase their own technology (macbooks, etc). Grades 5-12, students attend one synchronous (60min) and one asynchronous (60min) class per week. She shared about asynchronous and synchronous sample lessons and other resources for online teaching.

What worked well during remote teaching? What could've been improved?

My students all attended class regularly and we were able to move the curriculum forward. It was challenging to have a good way to assess the 4 language skills efficiently and effectively. In addition to the challenge of completing or moving forward the curriculum, I was also concerned about the emotional well being of some of my students and felt inadequately prepared to support some of these students.
