The Second International New York Forum on Translation

The Second International New York Forum on Translation took place on May 3rd at New York University. This forum was an international academic symposium focusing on the theory and practice of Chinese-English translation in the AI era.

The Renwen Society at China Institute. 

Scholars from more than 20 universities and translation-related institutions in China and the United States attended the conference, including the United Nations Translation and Interpretation Services, New York University, Pace University, City University of New York, Kean University in New Jersey, Monterey Institute of International Studies, Nanjing University, Nanjing Normal University, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Beijing Language and Culture University, Shandong University, Shanghai Normal University, Hangzhou Normal University, and Hainan Normal University.

The theme of this forum was "Translation and Cultural Communication in the AI Era." Scholars, experts, translators, and publishing industry professionals engaged in Chinese-English translation-related work from China and the United States gathered to discuss topics such as Translation of Asian and Western Classics, Translation Theory and Technology, and Translation Practice and Teaching. They explored a series of new issues in the fields of classic translation in the AI era, translation theory, translation practice, translation skills, translation teaching, and cultural exchange. The challenges and opportunities faced by translation in the AI era were a major focus and highlight of the forum.
