By the end of this unit, students will be able to:
Demonstrate advanced proficiency in sight reading, improvising, and transcribing rhythms incorporating all dotted 8th patterns and syncopation at the subdivision level in compound time.
Sight sing and improvise melodies that include skips and leaps between chord tones in secondary dominant chords.
Aurally identify examples of secondary dominants and applied ii-V-I's in songs and transcribe the melody and chords for short excerpts that include these harmonies.
