After countersigning your appointment letter, the A&S Office of Faculty Advancement (OFA) will collaborate with your home department to complete your IT onboarding & NYU NetID
Your home department will then submit your formal onboarding documentation to OFA and A&S Payroll
US Citizens will be asked to sign the Oath Card to Support the Constitutions as required by the State of New York
International faculty with work visa requirements may reach out to the NYU Office of Global Services (OGS) for assistance. International faculty should also complete Glacier Tax Prep Software to ensure their taxes are withheld correctly. Your department administrator will work with you to submit your materials
Once your hire is finalized, you will be prompted via your NYU email to complete required onboarding tasks in NYU's payroll system, PeopleSync (Workday), such as direct deposit enrollment.
You are now eligible to pickup your Photo ID card
Your home department will contact you to complete your U.S. employment authorization (i-9) and other onboarding tasks. Please review the Faculty New Hire Packet for more details
All employees must also complete the the NYUiLearn course entitled “OEO 150: NYU Sexual Harassment Prevention Training” within 30 days of hire

Benefits must be selected within 31 days of your date of hire. If elections are not made, full time faculty will be "defaulted" into pre-selected options

A&S Payroll reviews and processes all full time faculty appointments into our payroll system, PeopleSync (Workday). Benefits are elected after the hire process is completed in Workday

Computing & IT Services (CIT) provides guidance and recommendations on new computer, printer, and peripheral purchases for full time faculty in addition to the service contacts above. Any machine to be covered under the CIT support umbrella should be approved in advance by the Director, A&S/CIT
Computers and other technology (including Apple products) should be purchased through NYU's purchasing system (iBuy) using a purchase order. Computers should not be purchased directly using a personal credit card. Mobile phones, personal printers and home office equipment/furniture are also not supported/reimbursable
Any full time faculty technical purchase above $150 should be pre-approved by the applicable department contact and purchased via NYU's purchasing system (iBuy)

Arts & Science Office of Research (ASOR) provides expert support for faculty as they seek, develop, and secure grants. The office places a particular focus on work in the humanities and social sciences; areas where academics across higher education typically have less access to the grant-related infrastructure and support services afforded to science research. A primary goal of ASOR is to support interdisciplinary research initiatives across Arts & Science by leveraging the strengths and perspectives of faculty in all its divisions.
