After receiving your formal appointment letter, your home department will initiate your IT onboarding & creation of your NYU NetID
Your home department will then submit your onboarding documentation to A&S Academic Appointments and A&S Payroll
International researchers with work visa requirements may reach out to the NYU Office of Global Services (OGS) for assistance. International researchers should also complete Glacier Tax Prep Software to ensure their taxes are withheld correctly. Your department administrator will work with you to submit your materials
Once your hire is finalized, you will be prompted via your NYU email to complete required onboarding tasks in NYU's payroll system, PeopleSync (Workday), such as direct deposit enrollment
You are now eligible to pickup your Photo ID card
Your home department will also contact you to complete your U.S. employment authorization (i-9)
All employees must also complete the the NYUiLearn course entitled “OEO 150: NYU Sexual Harassment Prevention Training” within 30 days of hire

Benefits must be selected within 31 days of your date of hire. If elections are not made, full time employees will be "defaulted" into pre-selected options

A&S Payroll and science departments review and processes all full time researcher and postdoctoral appointments into our payroll system, PeopleSync (Workday). Benefits are elected after the hire process is completed in Workday

Purchasing Policies for Technology
Computers and other technology (including Apple products) should be purchased through NYU's purchasing system (iBuy) using a purchase order. Computers should not be purchased directly using a personal credit card. Mobile phones, personal printers and home office equipment/furniture are also not supported/reimbursable
Any technical purchase should be pre-approved by the PI and the applicable department contact and purchased via NYU's purchasing system (iBuy)
