Learning Management System - Canvas
NVRHS uses Canvas as its supported Learning Management System (LMS). Teachers are expected to post digital content on their Canvas course pages, as well as assignments. Teachers may accept digital files submitted via Canvas’s assignment submission features, and may also use the system for class discussions, select assessments, and other learning experiences. All users including students log into the Canvas at canvas.nvnet.org using their NVNet Google credentials (“Sign In With Google”) or their NVRHS Single Sign-On credentials (“Sign In With SSO”), which for students is the student’s 10 number as the username and SSO password.
Canvas is primarily a web-based system and can be accessed from any web browser and from any device. There is also a Canvas application for phones and tablets that can be found by searching for “Canvas Student” in the App Store / Google Play store.
Upon logging into Canvas, students see a dashboard that contains a list of all of their active classes as well as a calendar that lists upcoming events and assignments. Additional classes, such as an “all school” class, may also appear in the list of classes; within the all school class, students may refer to the Canvas Orientation for Students page for more information about using the system.
