Shadows and Silhouettes

This assignment was a mix of hard and easy for me. When taking the silhouettes I found it easy to find the silhouette but the hard part was making it a good photo. This was again the case with the shadows it was easy to find the shadows but when taking the photo I had a hard time making it about the shadow and not about the object making the shadow. All in all this assignment wasn't my favorite but did help build my skill of what makes a good photo.

Silhouettes

I really liked this photo because of the different shapes in the photo as well as the color. I used the rule of thirds to proportion the photo to where only 1/3 of the photo was sky. I liked how the sky goes from a blue down to the orange to then the black of the silhouettes. The palm tree and the light pole to me added more to the photo then just the silhouette of the houses.

Shadows

In this photo I went on the catwalk to get a overhead view of the shadow of a tree. The shadow is filling up the whole photo and is falling over the trashcan. I think the added bonus of the shadow over the trashcan adds a nice element to the photo.

I took this photo by the stairs leading to the cafeteria. I really liked the different colors of grey in the photos from the overlapping shadows. I also liked the different geometric shapes that the shadows created throughout the photo.
