Informal Portraiture

This assignment was really easy for me. I took a camera home and took several photos of my sister in my backyard. I learned how to not only just take pictures of people, but also capture their emotions and personality. Overall, this is definitely one of my favorite assignments and I will likely use everything that I learned for future photos.

This is easily one of my favorite photos from this assignment. There is perfect alignment with the rule of thirds and both my sister's face and the dog's face are pointed in the same direction, creating unity and balance for the photo.

I love this picture because it shows a lot of emotion since my sister has a great smile on her face. Additionally, she is angled to make the picture more interesting.

This image is very simple but it feels complete because there isn't any extra space on any of the sides. She is staring directly at the camera and her eyes are very clear and focused.
