Although I started this assignment knowing a little about photography, I still found it a little complicated. I wanted to make all of my pictures look unique and complex so I struggled to take simpler pictures that followed the given lesson. I also had a tendency to only take horizontal pictures but I soon learned the significance of vertical photos.
In this picture, there is a leading line through the center of the image. It has an effect guiding the viewer to look up the side of the wall. The vertical position of the photo removes distractions and helps maintain a focal point.
In this image, the focal point is the cone. It is placed directly in the middle of the picture and stands out. The cone brings vibrant color to the photo and contrasts the normal colors of things on campus.
This photo depicts the rule of thirds. The elements of the picture are balanced with the top row consisting of clouds, the middle has the buildings, and the bottom has the landscaping. It creates an organized look that is overall pleasing to look at.
