This video has definitely changed my view on failure and success in school. Before watching this video, I did believe failure was a learning tool, but not in the way the video had expressed. My original view on failure was that failure can make you more motivated to work hard, and study more for example, but that only applies to people that have the desire to work hard. My view on success is that people who are successful have a better work ethic and therefore do better in school. This video has changed my view on failure and success because the video explains how failure is a major key to success.
For somebody that feels like a failure I would say that failure is not the end. I believe that often times people who feel like a failure feel like they have hit the end, and there is no getting better. Throughout watching this video however, we learned that failure is only the start to success. Success is not instant, nor is it guaranteed, however failure leads to success. The growth mindset is very important to me because I believe that it leads to success. Having a growth mindset and being open to failure, but also open to trying things multiple times is very important.
It is very important to be cultivated (refined and well educated) because then you are able to have more success. The people who are well educated, and actually understand and grasp the information that they are learning tend to be the most successful people. Teachers can help create a growth mindset in our lives through the power of 'yet'. The word 'yet' says that although you might not have gotten something right away, you will at some point. This is powerful because it gives students confidence, because it shows that the teacher or parent has faith in their ability to be able to get it at some point in time.
