How I built this podcast with Guy Raz presents Headspace: Andy Puddicombe and Rich Pierson (2019) aired on January 3rd 2022. Guest #1 is Andy, he was a buddest monk for more than 10 years. Guest #2 is Rich, he worked at a high level ad agency in London. Rich was struggling in the corporate world and found Andy who was trying to help him. Together they created a meditation app with millions of users and makes $100 million annually.
My first takeaway from this podcast is that there are small moments in your life that can make bigger impacts down the road. Throughout life, for good or bad, all decisions lead to more experirinces. One small thing can trigger a bigger idea, thought or something that could change your life. Next, we as humans need to realize that change is good and our plans are not always going to work out. Andy talked about how he left college to follow his dream and look how it turned out for him. Changing plans and taking risks is all part of the game during life. He knew he wanted to be a monk so he chased what he was passionate about.
The final thing I want to touch upon that I took away from this podcast is that you have to be able to fail. Failure is a part of life and knowing how to fail helps you rebound and come back stronger. I really enjoyed this Podcast and will be checking out others like it in the future.
