GPA FORMULAS UPDATED TO BE CONSISTENT WITH REPORT CARDS.
Definitions of GPA's: (UPDATED 11/15. NO LONGER DIVIDED BY 25! THE GPA CALCULATOR WILL REFLECT THIS TOO.)
UNWEIGHTED GPA: The unweighted GPA uses the raw grades (rounded to the hundredths place) listed in the first chart to display a basic average of the grades.
WEIGHTED GPA: The weighted GPA is not the GPA that shows up on report cards. The weighted GPA applies multipliers to classes that are accelerated or academic. Other than that the formula is the same as the Unweighted GPA.
"REAL" WEIGHTED GPA/REPORT CARD GPA: This is the calculation of the GPA that would show up on a report card. The difference between this and the regular weighted GPA is that this formula rounds to the nearest whole number (ex. a 99.51 is calculated as a 100%). The weighted GPA only rounds to the nearest hundredth. Additionally, this GPA assumes the maximum possible grade is a 100. Grades over 100% displayed above are entered into this formula as just 100. These differences make it difficult to make a function that does this all automatically, so these numbers may change marginally on a weekly basis as values are adjusted to reflect the proper definition.
