The latest outlook (released November 21) is pictured below. It predicts a 40-50% chance of above average temperatures and equal chances of above/below average precipitation. Changes from recent outlooks... Since last month, the chance of seeing above avg. temps in the period increased by 10%.
We all know it snows up until April here, so here's the CPC's outlook for our second half of winter. It predicts a 33-40% chance of higher than average temperatures and a 33-40% chance of above average precipitation. Note: Precip can be rain or snow. Changes from recent outlooks... Since last month, the chance of seeing above avg. temps has increased 7-10%.
Despite the fact that it's still cold, Meteorological Spring starts March 1st. CPC's outlook predicts a40-50% chance of above average temperatures and equal chances of higher than normal or lower than normal precipitation.
Is it too early to start looking ahead to summer weather? I don't think so. CPC's outlook predicts a 50-60% chance of above normal temperatures and a 40-50% chance of above normal precipitation.
