1/26: It's NFL Championship Sunday! Stay tuned for the Super Bowl Prediction Game, which comes out later this week! Bookmark T-Cork for updates.
Good afternoon. Today, I am announcing further updates to the T-Cork site, as well as the return of my wild hairstyle of the past two falls. Please note that this release is long and detailed. To help you skip over stuff you don't care about, I've made use of bold, italics, bulleted lists, and other formatting.
New page headers! The new headers feature text styles similar to some fonts used in the 2024 Class Presidential campaign. The home page's header is shown below. (Image 1)
Announcement Ticker: The announcement ticker features more details than can fit in the banner atop the website. That can only fit 150 characters worth of info, which is very little. The ticker (now in the footer) works just like the stock ticker that has been on the site for months, or just like any other scrolling ticker you've seen on TV.
Sunsetting the Stocks Page: During our 7th and 8th Grade years, I participated in the stock market game. As we move into high school, that page is taking up space that is not useful to anybody. The page can now only be found in the archives.
The Archives: Now, all the old news and resources aren't just deleted and forgotten, they're moved to the Archives! If you want to remember who won T-Cork's Super Bowl Prediction Game, you can search for it, and that is the only way of finding it. If you have an archived page as a bookmark, you will get a 404 error message. Only pages that are not useful anymore are archived. Pages that are getting an update for High School, like the old Calendar and Bell Schedule pages, will not be archived.
Calendar and Bell Schedule*: These pages are coming back soon! The Calendar will feature school events like spirit week and pep rallies, as well as early dismissals and other things! The bell schedule page will have the bell schedule for regular days, 2 hour delays, and early outs. These pages will come back before the start of the year. Sign up for updates to get notified when they're up!
About Page*: The T-Cork site will soon have an About page. It will describe some of the history of T-Cork and his website(s).
Updated Weather Page: This will not surprise most, but Tanner Corkins is still a weather nerd. The Weather page has been updated for seasonality and functionality. Weather Briefs will come back too! They will feature snow day chances, snow/rain totals, model predictions, and of course my opinions.
More: The links page was updated. The footer was updated. The home page was updated. (all of these updates were minor)
I haven't changed much. If you don't count the hair. (Mohawk is Image 2) My goals for this year remain simple:
Be a good President for the Class of 2028 by:
Making the transition from Middle School into High School as easy as possible.
Helping struggling students whenever possible.
Organizing teams that WIN SPIRIT WEEK!!!
Setting the example.
Be a good person by:
Helping classmates, family, friends, teachers, and everyone else whenever possible.
Not making fun of others.
Being humble.
Good luck in the upcoming year. I look forward to working toward these goals as we move closer to and eventually through this year together.
If you have any questions about the updates or anything else, reach out to T-Cork.
