1/26: It's NFL Championship Sunday! Stay tuned for the Super Bowl Prediction Game, which comes out later this week! Bookmark T-Cork for updates.
Good evening everyone. First, I would like to thank everyone who voted, even if your ballot wasn't cast for me. Your vote is your voice, and I thank you for using your voice to stand up for what you believe in, no matter what that is. I am extremely proud of what we have accomplished together so far. Next year, we will achieve so much more together. I look forward especially to Gym Day (during Spirit Week), when we will put together one of the most capable teams that a Freshman class has ever produced! I have a few things that I would like to talk about before that happens though.
I would like to start by congratulating everyone who won a class office today! I believe that we will work very well together for the greater good of the class. Your officers next year are:
Tanner Corkins (President)
Damian Lanzoni (Vice President)
Allie Becker (Secretary)
Hailey Calkins (Treasurer)
Reagan Gatens (Historian)
I stand by every endorsement I made, even those that did not win. My endorsements were not made based on popularity, like some people may have voted on. They were made based on my experiences with the candidates. I am still happy with the results and I trust that the Class made the right choices in every race. I can be wrong.
Last year, I experienced many people being totally rude, both leading up to and through the election. These students were on both sides of the race, but rudeness is rudeness no matter who they voted for. Do not be rude to the candidates who did not win this year. If you are one of those candidates, please do not let others get you down. An election loss doesn't make you any less qualified for the position you hoped to attain. Students should congratulate the winners, console those who didn't win, and just overall don't be rude. Posters have already been taken down. If you have a poster that is not yours, please attempt to contact the candidate that it does belong to and see if they want it back. T-Cork Posters may remain in Mrs. Dunda's room. I will take them down soon.
I would like to close with some final words of gratitude and some plans and promises and non-promises. First, I acknowledge that much of my campaign focused on Spirit Week. Of course I can promise to do my best to put forth capable students for the events, but I cannot promise a victorious week for the underdog freshman class. Next, I would like to reiterate that I intend to lead the class through this transition into High School. If you need help with anything that I may be able to help with, see my Help Page for details on how you can contact me, or just see me in school. Finally, I would like to thank everyone one more time. This includes teachers, students, and other members of the community that have supported me throughout my life in NP!
