The Stranger by Albert Camus details the story of the main protagonist, Arthur Meursault, who is an individual that lost his mother recently but seemed not to convey emotions at all. Throughout the novel, Meursault details daily what his life is like, demonstrating a lack of meaning to life. One day he shot an Arab guy four times and was sent to jail, leading to his death.
This is one of my first assignments for The Stranger, and I have the ability of annotating the book and give my perspective on each chapter and scene. Throughout each page, I jotted down a multitude of thoughts, questions, and interpretations of the book relating to the plot of Arthur Meursault. The particular reason why I chose this artifact was to convey my deep analysis and understanding of the book by just reading it and jotting down some thoughts that I had at the moment. In addition, it demonstrates my growth in annotating books; from Frankenstein, I developed a different method of thinking and writing notes on books.
