North Penn Theatre Guild Meeting
5 November 2025
Meeting Notes
Thespian Activity Report - Brendan Leary. Karaoke night will be in tandem with Tri M to increase attendance numbers. Discussions are happening on Friday to plan and situate financials. Order forms for theater merch are in. They are in F-41. Orders due Dec 1st. Parents can give completed order forms to Jacquie if you want to order in secret. Merch is not guaranteed before the holidays. Thes Fest students need their health form completed ASAP. The January Middle School Workshop sign ups are almost ready to go out.
Notes from Mr Dake - 1. Sell tickets for The Crucible! Share with family, friends and the community. Posters are available to post in the community if you have connections. 2. Thes Fest field trip form has been submitted for approval. Total cost for all registered incl. transport/hotel/bus/entrance fees $6,700. Portion for students will be $175-$180. The Guild is discussing how much they can give per student towards the fee. TBD. Holiday Inn Express and Suites West hotel has been secured. Overnight Jan 2nd and 3rd. Meeting for students attending ThesFest is upcoming.
Treasury Update- Crystal McKee. Not much to update. Thes Fest had been at North Penn in the past. Last year was the first year that it had been offsite in awhile. Guild contributions have varied in the past. Previous director didn’t want the Guild to donate a big amount as not all of the students attend. Donation has been $900 to $2500 in the past. Raise Right is a great way to cover the cost. Funds are available for those whose families can’t afford the Thes Fest fee!
Holiday Spectacular - December 6th in the auditorium from 7-9pm. First time event. Karaoke fundraiser event. Parents, teachers, students….all are welcome to come and sing. In conjunction with Tri M (music honors society). Cash donations for admission. Snacks for sale. Any money raised is split 50/50 as there is a lot of cross over. There will be a 50/50 raffle! Two different color tickets for the two different groups. Groups will keep their own money from the raffle.
No auditions! Need a starting lineup. How to do that? How many slots? 20 acts as an estimate. Tom McKee agreed to MC. Need tech assistance. Discussion of having it be more intimate in the lobby, where people can eat and drink. Just need chairs and maybe some small tables. Jacquie to check on availability. Leftover snacks from the play can be sold. Google sign up sheet for songs.
Fall Show- Nov 20, 21, 22, 23. Please review email signups for volunteer slots and food slots (struggling). Many times to volunteer and many mouths to feed. 80/85 students and staff participating. Mr Dake to remind students to have their family sign up for food and volunteer slots if possible. FB reminders also.
Raise Right - Monica Mastricolo - End of November/Early December there will be a physical gift card order for the holidays. Guild pays for shipping for that order. If there is a balance at the end of your student’s time here at NP, you can donate the funds to the Guild or a check can be made out for you. Some members don’t pay a penny because their fees are covered by Raise Right.
ThesFest (PA State Thespian Conference) updates included above.
New Notes- Looking to see if there is a way to support families in need in the theater program. No families identified in our program but dignity and privacy is of utmost importance. Reach out to Nicole Adelman if you wish to donate. Funds not used for theater students will be used for families at the high school.
Details re: candygrams and concessions were discussed. Labels, envelopes, etc.
Julia - Gift basket raffles at Trivia Night. Can provide an entire basket or items, gift cards. Holiday time is a great time to ask for donations. Can provide a thank you tax deductible letter. Can bring in at parent company meeting or drop off to Julia or Jacquie.
Next Meeting? January 7th to discuss Trivia Night.
