Description:
The Association of Alberta Agricultural Fieldmen, as an ongoing tribute to active or retired AAAF members who pass away, and in the spirit of continuing education valued by our Association, created the AAAF Memorial Bursary.
The AAAF shall award bursaries on a regional basis upon the consensus of the Agricultural Fieldmen in each region, based on scholastic standing, social and community activities, and chosen program of study.
Criteria:
An Alberta resident;
Accepted or currently attending a post-secondary institution in Alberta (proof of acceptance required);
Accepted or currently enrolled in an agricultural or environmental sciences related program;
Have not already been awarded this bursary in another region within Alberta.
Although not required, priority will be given to students that have worked for a rural municipality in the past.
300 word or less submission answering the following questions: 1. Why have you chosen to study in an Agricultural or Environmental Science-related program? 2. What are your career plans upon graduation?

Description:
The Charmaine Letourneau Fund was established to support post-secondary education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Albertans.
The scholarship is awarded each year to a Deaf or Hard of Hearing person who will attend an academic or training program at a qualified institution. Priority is given to individuals who demonstrate involvement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing organizations, school or community leadership, commitment to and diligence in studies, and likelihood that the program of study will lead to employment or further educational opportunities.
Each year, typically 2 students receive awards ranging from $2,000 to $7,000.
Criteria:
Be Deaf or Hard of Hearing
Be a permanent resident or citizen of Canada
Be a resident of Alberta
Be pursuing an academic or training program at a qualified post-secondary or vocational school in Alberta. Alternatively, the educational institution can be outside of Alberta if the program specializes in programming for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
Demonstrated knowledge (whether basic or fluent) of sign language
Demonstrate financial need.
