Criteria:

• Applicants must be:

• Residents of Canada who are between the ages of 16-25 or entering their first year of post-secondary education.

• High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, vocational-technical school, or equivalent post-secondary school for the entire upcoming academic year.

• Scholarships of up to $3000 are available for technical or trades training related to the oil and natural gas industry. Training programs must be at accredited institutions offering apprenticeships, diplomas, certificates, or degrees.

Criteria:

• Be a child/dependent (spouses not eligible) of a Canadian Natural employee and/or Indigenous (First Nations, Metis, and Inuit included). For Indigenous applicants, you must be able to provide proof of your status either through official identification or a letter from community leadership

• Be a resident of Western Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba) for at least one year prior to application. Students from communities where Canadian Natural has operations will receive added consideration

• Hold a Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN)

• Be pursuing an area of study that is relevant to the oil and natural gas industry and/or that supports the communities where these activities occur

• Maintain a passing GPA of at least 2.5, which is the equivalent of approximately 70% or a C+

Criteria:

• The submission packages must include the following items:

• a letter from the applicant, setting out their goals and objectives in pursuing further education, as well as the relevance of their study program to local government or rural communities;

• official high school transcripts if entering their first year, or the most recent transcript from their post-secondary institute if entering a subsequent year;

• a brief résumé outlining employment experience, community involvement, volunteer activities, recreational activities, cultural pursuits, etc.; and

• written confirmation from the local rural municipality’s chief administrative officer (CAO) certifying that the applicant is a resident of the municipality. If you are not sure who your CAO is, visit your municipality’s website.
