Kin Canada Bursaries - February 1st

Description:

Kin Canada Bursaries is a program of the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund (HREF). Kin Canada established the HREF in memory of Hal Rogers, Kin Canada's founder who passed away in 1994.
From the fund, $1,000 bursaries are awarded to successful Canadian applicants who are pursuing post-secondary education at a recognized university, community college, technical institute, and other schools for advanced education.

Criteria:

Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
Must be a full-time student in the process of graduating from high school or currently studying or registered at a post-secondary institution.
Must complete the current application form and submit it to the Kinsmen, Kinette or Kin Club closest to their permanent residence by February 1.
Must not have previously been awarded a Kin Canada Bursary.
Will be evaluated on their community and school involvement, knowledge of Kin Canada and financial need

Description: Our bursaries are awarded to students at the post-secondary level of education in Alberta and Northwest Territories with the exception of the Fred and Lilly North Masonic Bursary which accepts applications from specific locations within Alberta and Saskatchewan. Bursaries are awarded on a basis of need and proven scholastic ability.

Description: The Honouring Spirit: Indigenous Student Awards are intended to recognize First Nations, Métis and Inuit students who model strength and commitment in the pursuit of their personal education path and embrace their own gifts, strengths and potential while celebrating the ways of their people.

Criteria:

Perseverance in the pursuit of goals and dreams, in school and beyond
Maintaining strength, self-care and a healthy attitude as they pursue their personal path to education and fulfilment
Embracing their cultural identity and promoting the strength, beauty and value of their culture and community
Modelling leadership through a cultural lens that inspires their peers to pursue their own dreams and goals
Respecting and honouring the autonomy, empowerment and agency of others to self-determine
Improvement in work ethic, attitude, attendance and interaction with others
Honesty and honour demonstrated in the student’s daily encounters with fellow school community members
Kindness towards others

Amount: Between $1000-$6000 (up to 10 awarded)

Description:

Scholarships to inspire women to join the ever-growing field of Information Security

Criteria:

Must be pursuing, or plan to pursue, a degree with a focus on cybersecurity or information assurance.
You may be a senior in high school, an undergraduate student, a graduate or a postgraduate student to be eligible.
GPA must be at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or an analogous rank based on a comparable scale).
You may be a citizen of any country (US citizenship not required).
May be attending on-campus or online.
May be attending full time or part-time
May be attending in the US or Internationally
You do not currently need to be enrolled, however, no awards will be disbursed until the recipient is enrolled in a college or university.
If awarded: the funds will be sent to the school with instructions that they be applied to tuition, fees, and books.
This scholarship application includes an essay component as outlined in the application

Criteria:

Applicants must be residents of the geographic area for a minimum of two years prior to the application deadline (check website for locations)
The applicant must be enrolled in a program that has a minimum of five months duration at a post-secondary educational institution
An official high school transcript must accompany the application
Applicants must submit three letters of reference with their application
