Description:

• The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant is one of the most prestigious grants available to emerging figurative artists, as well as one of the most substantial. It is one of the longest-standing, with an illustrious history of recipients spanning more than half a century. It is also unique in its scope, in that it is available to students and artists around the world.

• The Foundation will only fund young artists who are pursuing their studies or are in the early or developmental stage of their career, are working in a representational style of painting, drawing, sculpture, or printmaking, and demonstrate the determination and talent to pursue a lifetime career in their art practice. The Foundation does not provide funding for the pursuit of abstract or non-objective art.

• Awarded annually to 10 students attending a technology-focused program (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Software Engineering) at a partner university (Polytechnique Montreal, Toronto Metropolitan University, University of British Columbia, University of Calgary, University of New Brunswick, University of Waterloo)

• Covers full tuition, living expenses and other costs

Ted Rogers Future Leader Scholarship

• Valued at $26,800 over four years

• Awarded annually to 100 students attending a partner university (see above)

• Covers average tuition costs

Ted Rogers Future Entrance Scholarship

• One-time award valued at $2,000

• Awarded annually to hundreds of students starting any university, college, or trade school program

• Helps cover educational fees and the cost of books

Criteria:

An eligible applicant must be:

• A Canadian citizen or permanent resident, age 25 or younger;

• Commencing their first post-secondary bachelor's degree in the 2024-2025 academic year;

• Have a minimum cumulative average of 70% (or equivalent) over the last three terms of available marks*. Non-academic courses such as career or personal development-related courses will not be considered.

The John Hasselfield Endowment Foundation was established in the memory of John Hasselfield, a Calgary Board of Education Principal. John impacted the lives of many Alberta students through his support of students in the fine arts, athletics, and extracurricular activities. In his memory the foundation provides financial awards to Alberta students to allow each student to "pursue their passion".

Description:

This award recognizes the outstanding mentors and promising student interns who exemplify professionalism, dedication to safety, and engagement to learning and achieving in one of CAREERS’ pathways. Three students and three mentors will be chosen in this category. Student winners receive a $500 scholarship to continue their training.

• Student participated in a CAREERS internship, the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) or CAREERS Dual Credit Program this year.

• • Nominator must obtain the consent of the nominee prior to submission.

• • Nominator must illustrate how the internship impacted and/or benefited the organization and/or speak to the goals of RAP or dual credit (if applicable)
