Happy Monday, one last time! With just 8 days of school remaining, our time is about up! Kids have things they're working on in their content classes this week that WILL be part of their 4th 9 weeks grade. Please make sure they are present each day!
There is one last try out happening Wednesday, May 22 for cross country. If your child is interested in being a part of this in 7th grade, please make sure they get their physical (forms can be picked up by the students in our office) and that they email Coach Brown at brownd@nlrsd.org.
We want to thank each of you for the many ways you have supported your student this year. We APPRECIATE you...we noticed all the things you did, big and small. We want you to know that every single thing worked together to make a tremendous difference for you student! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! It has been our pleasure to work with you and your kids. We expect to hear great things about them in the future. Don't forget us! Keep us updated on all of their achievements. Have a GREAT and well earned SUMMER everyone!
Watch HAC closely this week. We're down to the wire, and things will likely be updating frequently this week. Report cards will go home next week (probably on the 30th...you can pick them up anytime this summer from the office if your student isn't here) and we, as always, want these kids to finish strong! If you see anything you have questions about, please email us! We are always happy to get back with you! Check out a few last upcoming important dates/events below.
May 22 - Cross Country Tryouts
May 24 - Catfest
May 27 - No School - Memorial Day
May 30 - Last Day of School
Updates from the classroom...
This week in ELA, we will be finishing strong. We will be completing the “Dorothy’s Journey Through Oz” scrapbook. We will also be reviewing the year through a digital Escape Room and whole group game.
This week in math we will be reviewing topics we learned throughout the year.
.
This week in science, we are creating a digital comic on the Water Cycle to present to class on Thursday.
Kids are working to finish their Athens or Sparta ad today and tomorrow. These will count as a test grade and HAVE to be finished by Wednesday, when oral presentations will begin. Thursday, oral presentations will continue, if need be and Friday is CatFest! We are officially out of time!

Want to stay up to date on grades?
We highly encourage parents to make a habit out of checking the Home Access Center weekly. Students are required to do this weekly but, if parents do this, too, home and school are on the same page and no one gets a "surprise" at interim or at the end of a 9 weeks. GradeWay is an app that communicates with HAC. A number of parents in recent years have begun downloading this app to their phones and/or tablets, and have found it to be both an easy and convenient way to keep up with their child's grades, missing assignments, and to email teachers with questions or concerns. You may find this a useful tool, as well.
