Hello team!
Thank you for a great field trip today! We all came home tired and hot, but the day was full of fun and a lot of memories. It was a great way to wrap up the end of the year. We hope the kids had as much fun as the staff!
Friday of this week is CATFEST which is our Quarter 4 Incentive. Students must have maintained good behavior to attend Catfest. The requirements are no more than one longform, no more than three minor referrals, and no more than three tardies. If your child doesn't meet these requirements and comes to school on Friday, they will be in a reflection room during CATFEST. We will make sure all students know if they are eligible or not before Friday.
KONA ICE will be at CATFEST, but all snowcones must be purchased in advance. Snowconces are $5 and can be purchased during advisory through Thursday of this week!
The official last day of school is not until May 30th. However, most teachers have already assigned their final assignments/projects and began cutting off grades. This week teachers are collecting missing work and wrapping up their classes. Per Mr. Clark, if your child is absent once all of their work is turned in, they will be marked as an excused absence. Students who are in school will be given paper packets to work on until the last day of school as review.
Report Cards will be available on HAC on May 30, or if you prefer a paper copy, they will be available for pickup in the front office on or after May 30th!
Thank you for sharing your child with us! We hope each of you have a wonderful summer!

Updates from the classroom...
Please check your child's grade regularly for updates. If you have any questions regarding grades, please don't hesitate to email for me clarification.
The last day I will take missing/make up work is Friday May 17 at 3:00.
Please check HAC and make sure your child has no missing work. The last day for any missing or late work is Thursday, May 23.
We are completing our unit on Greece: Athens vs Sparta. Some are still presenting projects about with city-state is better, Athens or Sparta. We will move on to complete a picture and short study of one god or goddess from Greek mythology. We are quickly wraping up for the end of the year.
We highly encourage parents to make a habit out of checking the Home Access Center weekly. It is the responsibility of the parents and students to stay aware of their progress in their courses. GradeWay is an app you can add to your phone or tablet that will make this very easy to do! It communicates with HAC and makes it easy to check up on grades, missing assignments, and email teachers when you have questions or concerns.

**You will need your Home Access Center (HAC) login to access your account. All students were given a letter to bring home with HAC logins last week! Choose the link with a 23 in it for NLRSD**

A note about teaming: Our students are teamed with their four core subjects, English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, whenever possible. Teams allow us to create a school within a school environment for our students, making our large campus feel smaller. Reading and electives are cross teamed to allow us to meet the vast needs of our students, as well as to allow more social interactions with other students. All of our core departments work closely together to ensure students receive quality instruction regardless of their team.
