ORIENTATION ON GROUPS

GROUPS is in the APP PICKER

Groups are a shared communication with three main functions

they can just be a simple mailing list.

they can just be a mailbox OR

they can be a web forum where people post messages.

EVERY school has been given one mailbox….every school has been given one community. it CAN be all three of the above things at once.

MANAGERS have the MANAGE in blue under the groups that they are manager for.

There are MANY security settings to look after in GROUPS…so that is why the groups are set up by request to IT

Once you have been issued your groups the setting on the group can be changed

you can set it so only a few people post to a particular list.

DELIVERY-this will limit WHO gets a copy of the e-mail notification every time a change is made in a group

BACK on the main user groups…I can change myself to ALL e-mail if I want.

left SIDE BAR-members-direct add…when you do a DIRECT add, there is an initial e-mail that goes to the users, write a good letter here, because you could be doing this again and again

you can only add 10 names at a time to a particular group…that prevents spamming.

GROUPS have THREE ROLES-

members,

owner,

manager.

When setting up the invite to the group show the 4 options at the bottom (no email, abridged email, digest email, all e-mail)
