The middle school day is structured to provide a balance of learning, breaks, and activities, beginning with Homeroom and ending with Afterschool Activities (ASA).
7:50 - 8:00
Each morning begins with a 10-minute homeroom period. Attendance is taken, and morning announcements are shared to ensure all students are on time, informed about school events, and ready for the day.
8:05 - 2:50
There are seven 45-minute instructional periods each day.
Morning Sessions: Five periods are scheduled before lunch. A 15-minute morning break is held between Period 2 and Period 3 (9:40 – 9:55) to give students time to rest and recharge.
Afternoon Sessions: Two periods follow lunch before ASA.
12:25 - 1:10
NIS follows a staggered lunch schedule to ensure all students have sufficient time and space to eat safely and comfortably.
3:00 - 3:50
The day ends with ASA, where students participate in clubs, sports, or other supervised enrichment activities.
