In this course, the students will learn about composition through the elements of color, shape, form, line, value, and texture. They will also learn about and Principles of Design by developing an understanding of balance and emphasis, contrast, repetition, proportion, and scale. They will apply their understanding of composition and design through the development of drawing, painting, and sculptural techniques. The students will also learn about famous artists and their different styles and periods.
Students will learn about Op Art graphic designs.
Students will learn about Aboriginal dot paintings.
Students will do an open-ended project that allows for personal interpretations.
Students will do a clay sculptural project.
Students will do an observational still life painting.
Students will do a landscape painting in the style of an art movement.
