South West Data Science Hub

Building on growing collaborations from within the wider SWAIH community, the Hub was developed as a focused in-person group for analysts and data leads to learn and work together across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset.

Meeting monthly at the University of Exeter, Hub members work collaboratively on common data challenges within their respective health care systems.

The Hub provides bespoke training and supports peer-to-peer learning to enable collaborative methods and open ways of working across the region and is supported by researchers from PenARC, Exeter's Biomedical Research Centre and Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.

Members were nominated by their host organisations as data professionals able to drive change and embed new ways of working. 

Priorities for the Hub are to:

• deliver quantifiable service improvements

• improve data science methods and infrastructure within regional organisations

• provide bespoke advice and expertise through the Hub's wider network of research and infrastructure links

The Hub has members from across the 3 Counties: Cornwall, Devon & Somerset, and South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.
