Launched in October 2023, the National Competency Framework has been designed by the data community to set the standard of what it means to work as a data professional in health and care.
By creating standards (including competencies, job descriptions, recruitment advertising, and interview questions) individuals are able to maintain their personal flare whilst developing themselves against standard skills, enabling analysts to work in any location, for any organisation, using the agreed competencies of the NCF.
These competencies can be used to build career development within tools such as personal development plans and training needs analysis.
The NCF is a crucial step towards professionalisation of the data workforce within health and care.
