We will host regular online talks, including discussions and Q&As, that we hope will be of interest to the wider SWAIH community.
Please get in touch with any ideas for future topics.Â
Speaker: Richard Croker, NHS Devon
Monday 23rd February, 2-3pm
We’re delighted to welcome Richard Croker - Chief Pharmacist, Primary Care at NHS Devon, and Clinical Informatics team lead at the Bennett Institute developing OpenPrescribing.net.
OpenPrescribing.net is a free platform, open to everyone, developed by the Bennett Institute of Applied Data Science, University of Oxford.
OpenPrescribing was developed to make it simple for users to view prescribing patterns for every practice, PCN, Sub-ICB, ICB and NHS region in the country. It provides a series of pre-developed measures and tools identifying ways to improve safety, quality, efficacy and cost-effectiveness of prescribing, as well as an analyse tool for users to undertake bespoke analysis.
OpenPrescribing uses open-source data made available monthly from the NHS Business Services Authority, and all code is freely available on GitHub.
This talk will describe how OpenPrescribing was developed, how it's maintained and used, and future plans for development.
