Speakers: Stephen Burrows, HDR UK & Andy Boyd, UK Longitudinal Linkage Collaboration
Presented by: Professor Krasimira Tsaneva-Atanasova, University of Exeter
The UK Health Data Research Alliance brings together leading health, care, and research organisations to improve the discoverability, access, and use of health data for research. The Alliance helps develop standards, governance frameworks, and best practice to support trusted and streamlined approaches for using health data while ensuring transparency and public benefit.
In this talk, Stephen provides an overview of the Alliance, its role in shaping the UK health data research landscape, and how researchers, both within and outside member organisations, can engage with its initiatives.
The UK Longitudinal Linkage Collaboration (UK LLC) is an Alliance member, based in Bristol, that links data from multiple longitudinal studies with routine health and administrative records, creating a valuable resource for understanding how health and social factors change over time. As an exemplar from the South West, Andy will discuss UK LLC’s role as an Alliance member, highlighting how its work supports data-driven research and the opportunities available for researchers looking to use longitudinally linked data.
