Study of the Month

SELF-FRAX

Implementing improved fracture risk assessment in primary care: enhancing capture and quality of self-reported risk factors in electronic records in primary care.

Three out of four people are at increased risk of fracture don't recieve treatment, largely because this risk goes unidentified. A strategy that can raise awareness of increased fracture risk would lead to an improement in the prescribing of osteoporisis. The SELF-FRAX study will start to develop such a strategy by focusing on patient-centred, interactive approaches, devised with the involvement of patients and the public, to improve the quality of fracture risk information in GP electronic health records.
