Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Training

Being involved in research does mean that it is a requirement for a GP to complete the Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training, as some study teams may require this before being involved in studies. Depending on what RSI level your practice is on will depend on how many people are required to have their GCP's complete, we do encourage everyone involved in research in the practice to complete their training.

This training can be done online. As well as online training we can arrange to set up face-to-face training, which we recommend for everyone who is completely new to research.

Research Ready Accreditation

Research Ready® is a quality assurance programme for all research-active UK GP practices. It is designed in line with the UK Research Governance Framework's legal, ethical, professional, and patient safety requirements. The programme serves to provide information, support and guidance to accredited practices in research.

Please note that this is not a requirement for our RSI scheme but we do highly recommend the Research Ready Accreditation.

Participating healthcare professionals recieve formal recognition of engagement in NIHR Portfolio research studies through the certification of Associate PI status, endorsed by the NIHR and Royal Colleges.

This site is aimed at LCRN staff working in Primary Care and supporting the delivery of the PRIDES Service. You will find guidance on supporting study teams and GP sites who may want to use Health Informatics (HIs) as well as SOPs for developing and sharing His for NIHR Portfolio Studies.
