More than 140 communicators from all different parts of the organisation joined the face-to-face event in London on 6 February.
Thank you for taking the time to travel and we hope you gained valuable insights and built connections with your NIHR communications colleagues.
We began the day getting to know our new NIHR Director of Communications - Jen Walters who set out a clear ambition for us to work more cohesively in order to best demonstrate NIHR impact. We then celebrated some of the year’s highlights from NIHR working groups and wider communications teams from research schools and infrastructure.
In the afternoon, we learnt about the perspectives from the Department of Health and Social Care; specifically about how we may frame NIHR communications through the 4 ‘Is’, Impact, Innovation, Inclusion and Investment. And in the final sessions of the day we received some valuable updates from the NIHR brand panel and heard from the campaigns team about plans for International Clinical Trials Day and the Be Part of Research launch.
The day was jam-packed, so we’ve collated the full slide deck for you to revisit or view if you were unable to attend.
Please also take time to explore the rest of our NIHR Comms Site - it’s a one-stop-shop for resources on NIHR's visual identity (with full details housed on the NIHR website), as well as writing tips to help with day-to-day communications including for social care.
Head to our 'Introducing NIHR communications' page for a full overview of what we do and how we work together across NIHR communications. Please also share with researchers the guidance on acknowledging NIHR, including for infrastructure, schools and units that is on our main website.
If not already done so, please tell us how you’d like to be kept up to date? This will help us add to and improve how we connect with our communications community.
You can also contact the NIHR Internal Communications Team via internal.comms@nihr.ac.uk and notify us of any changes to our Comms Directory through ccfcomms@nihr.ac.uk
