‘‘Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime’’ - Lao Tzu
Any development starts with the self and the extension of that knowledge of self to the outer world has the most possibility of bringing out true potential. As such the capacity building program, crafting footprints is designed as a developmental program going from soft skills to technical skills and to life skills. The core of the program has four pillars of objectives; upgrading skill, raising awareness, career opportunity and expansion of worldview within the context of footwear making. From personality development to better product making to financial literacy and basics of entrepreneurship; the program aims to deliver a holistic development opportunity to the participants.
Well-structured programs can have a profound long-term impact, enhancing not only the personal development of the girls but also their potential to contribute to society.
The book is designed as a trainer's guide with a comprehensive curriculum of 6 weeks, including details on topics, objectives, learning outcomes and a description of activities for executing the program.
Workshop Model :
The capacity building training program , Crafting Footprints can be delivered through a six-week-long workshop in collaboration with stakeholders like NGO partners, Govt. agencies, Research & Design Institutes etc. After careful consideration of the time constraints due to heavy work load, the duration of the training program is kept for a month. The program is proposed during the monsoon break taken by the makers family in June-July every year. On successful completion of the program the participants will receive a certificate and a scholarship amount.
