Every Cougar in Calmar liked the spring semester a lot... 

But the Grinch, who lived just north of Peosta, DID NOT! 

The Grinch hated spring course prep! The whole planning season! 

Now, please don't ask why. No one quite knows the reason.

It could be because he was tired from fall. 

Or perhaps his to-do list was simply too tall.

But, I think that the most likely reason of all,

Was his Google calendar felt two sizes too small.

Whatever the reason, his course or his pace, 

By mid-December he hated Brightspace.

The Grinch growled, with his fingers nervously drumming,

"I must find some way to keep spring semester from coming!"

But an NICC student, with a spirit so bright

Saw through his plots in the dimmest of light.

She emailed him with courage, her voice honest and stern,

"Why delay your syllabus, when we all wish to learn? 

Her words struck true, like a bell's clear chime,

Reminding the Grinch of the value of time.

This student had shown him that the way to be great

was to embrace this task, without all the wait.

And the minute his time didn't feel quite so tight,

He whizzed through his course prep with a squeal of delight.

He developed activities and learning galore!

And he, HE HIMSELF! The Grinch... loved Brightspace once more.
