This is a one semester course with the purpose of delving into the world of dramatic acting and exploring ways to transform into characters. This class will help students overcome fears of performing in front of others. All students will be given an overview of drama and its history as well as current dramatic practices. Students may be called upon to act and/or take part in group projects. Parts of this class will be dedicated to the Fall musical and the preparation of the show. Spring Semester will be dedicated to selecting, rehearsing and performing the spring play. It should be understood that outside of the school rehearsals and/or other activities may be necessary and be implied as part of the course.

This is a one semester course designed for those students who need a fine arts credit but do not consider themselves artsy. This course will learn all about the art of performing spaces and how to create worlds out of everyday materials and objects. This course will explore the art of stage lighting and using our in house system and other lighting elements in our auditorium. Students will learn the basics of sound production, microphones, and PA systems. As well as mixing sound in multiple spaces and styles. A main part of this class will be supporting the production each semester, building sets and crafting the sound and lighting elements of each performance. Students will be involved in the performances during each production in a backstage and behind the scenes capacity. This may require some time outside of the school day for the performances.
