Bessie Allen Middle School

Hello my name is Sara Drews, and I’m thrilled to be joining Oriole Nation!

I grew up in Montello, Wisconsin, and graduated from Ashford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Health and Wellness in 2012.

I began educating students in 2007 for the school district of Horicon. For seven years I was their Title I Paraprofessional. I also was Horicon’s cross country and track and field coach as well as their AODA co-counselor. Due to funds being cut, my position was eliminated and for the last five years I’ve been Ahern’s Quality Administrator.

I’ve missed the education atmosphere and am excited to be back to mentoring and educating our future leaders!

On a personal note, I’ve raised three amazing boys. My oldest, Dylan, attends UW-LaCrosse. He is entering his Junior year, second semester, majoring in Political Science. My middle son, Connor, just graduated as Horicon’s 2019 Valedictorian, and is attending the University of MN majoring in Environmental Engineering. My youngest son, Blake, is currently attending Standford’s summer college. He returns two weeks before his Senior year of high school resumes.

On a personal note - I love Wisconsin’s summers, hiking, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and outdoor reading. I have two dogs, Murphy and Barley who also love enjoying the great outdoors with me. My passion is running. I ran my first 5K at the age of four and haven’t stopped. I’ve ran 32 marathons and three Ultras (50 miles).

I look forward to meeting you all and can’t wait to spend the next year as part of the Oriole Nation Team!
